A pie-eating contest and a Christmas party outrageous suits competition were just two of the ploys used by London broker Air Charter Service and its employees to raise almost £50,000 for charity.
ACS’s Charity Committee organised a whole series of events in 2014, including participation in the ‘Mini Nuts’ military assault course challenge. And individual employees made sponsored bungee jumps or ran the New York Marathon.
One of the beneficiaries of all this activity is the e HEAL orphanage and school in Andhra Pradesh, India, which has now gained a new IT classroom and library.
Each year ACS’s staff vote for an additional three charities to raise money for: one local, one UK-based and one international.
Dysart School is a school for children with learning disabilities, opposite ACS’s London HQ. Carers Trust, which supports unpaid carers and raises their profile in the community, served as ACS’s national charity. The international charity was Médicins Sans Frontières.
