Moscow-headquartered Volga-Dnepr Airlines has flown a 19-ton welding system as part of a larger shipment delivered to Malaysia on behalf of air charter broker Chapman Freeborn.
The cargo was needed to support repairs being made at one of the country’s biggest electricity power stations, a facility that provides electricity to the Malaysian state of Sarawak.
The IL-76TD-90VD freighter flight operated to Bintulu, Malaysia, from Jakarta in Indonesia. Each of the 11 individual pieces of cargo were packed in protective crates and loaded on board the aircraft using a 3-ton forklift.
Chapman Freeborn’s regional manager in Singapore, Anton Lomakin, observed: “This on-time transport operation was another excellent example of how we work closely with Volga-Dnepr to deliver urgent cargo all over the world.”
