The Supervisory Board of Cologne Bonn Airport has elected Johan Vanneste as a new member and both chairman and chief executive of the airport’s Board of Management.
The appointment will take effect no later than June 1 this year but – in the case of earlier availability – as soon as May 1.
Vanneste has served as president and chief executive of Luxembourg Airport since 2014. Prior to that, he held senior positions with various cargo and passenger airlines.
The chairman of the airport’s Supervisory Board, Friedrich Merz, said: “Important and challenging tasks await him with regard to the future development of the airport.
”We also expect of him a change in corporate culture in leadership and personnel management at the airport and in communication with the general public.”
Cologne Bonn Airport is Germany’s third-biggest airfreight hub and amongst Europe’s top 10 air cargo gateways.
