United Parcel Service is to launch a Tunisia-based pan-African airline from 12 January, according to local press reports. The US-based integrator has partnered with local Tunisian freight firm Express Logistic to set up Express Air Cargo (Enfidha). It plans to develop services between Enfidha airport – about midway between Tunis and Sousse - and 51 African destinations, including Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.
The two partners have already launched joint freighter services to UPS-Express Logistic launched reciprocal cargo flights from Enfidha to the express carrier’s main European hub in Cologne and to Malta using ATP aircraft operated by West Air Sweden.
