UPS has promoted Cindy Miller as the first female president of its global freight forwarding arm.
Miller began her career with the US parcels and logistics giant as a driver in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in 1988.
“The air freight industry is central to the development of trade and the global economy,” said Miller, adding: “With a senior management team of more than 1,200 combined years of experience, customers can rely on UPS to partner with them on their global logistics needs.”
Miller has held various positions in UPS all over the world in her 28 years with the company. Prior to her current position, she served as president of the UPS region in Europe.
Under her leadership, UPS achieved record growth and service levels across the region. Miller also directed key expansions in the Healthcare and Retail/B2C sectors, including the roll-out of UPS My Choice and the UPS Access Point network.
In addition, she oversaw multiple acquisitions and the opening of new or expanded facilities across Europe, including France, Austria, Poland, and Germany.
