UK independent freight forwarding group Davies Turner has appointed Emma Turner to the board of directors at its Davies Turner Logistics Ltd subsidiary, effective 1 April.

Having joined Davies Turner in 2011, Emma has since played an integral role in the development of the company’s logistics operations.

”Emma’s career path reflects her strong commercial acumen and a natural aptitude for strategic leadership,” said Davies Turner.

After graduating with a first-class degree in management from the University of York in 2010, Emma began her career as a contracts coordinator at one of Davies Turner’s hubs in Coleshill.

Over the years, she has progressed through various roles, including contracts supervisor and contracts manager, where she managed the logistics operations for a number of blue chip clients.

In 2023, Emma took on the role of head of logistics Midlands, where she spearheaded the logistics division’s expansion and development. As director, Emma will continue to focus on growing the business.

In the Midlands, Davies Turner has expanded from a single warehouse of 65,000 sq ft to three modern warehouses spanning a total of 280,000 sq ft.

This growth includes last year's addition of a facility in Atherstone, which includes automated goods lifts, conveyors and energy-efficient systems, including solar panels and waste compactor systems.

In total, Davies Turner Logistics operates at eight locations around the UK, offering more than 1.2m sq ft of warehouse space, over 100,000 pallet locations and more than 500,000 sq ft of mezzanine flooring.

The company has also invested in new technology, such as its Warehouse Management System (WMS), which has evolved to offer integration, tracking, and advanced fulfilment capabilities.

“Emma’s appointment is a testament to her dedication, leadership, and the outstanding results she has achieved at Davies Turner Logistics,” said Emily Stephenson, managing director of Davies Turner.

“Her role in expanding our logistics operations, coupled with her vision for the future, will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and grow.”
