Turkish Cargo has announced a change in its Brazilian operations, moving from Sao Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport to the Viracopos gateway about 100km away.

The Istanbul-based carrier said: “Having a strong cargo traffic of perishable goods with Europe and textile products with Asia and the Middle East, Sao Paulo has become an even more important destination for Turkish Cargo.”

Turkish Cargo’s flights to Brazil are carried out by Boeing 747 and Boeing 777 freighters.

Exports from the state of Sao Paulo include dried milk, vitamin pills, fruits and vegetables, poultry products, unprocessed leather, automobiles and spare parts. Imports include mobile phones and accessories, automobiles and accessories, mechanical and petrochemical products, and textile products.
