Turkish Cargo bellyhold and freighter revenues for the calendar year 2014 reached $973m, an 11.7 per cent increase on 2013, according to year end group figures released by Turkish Airlines.
The cargo arm of the Turkish flag carrier saw passenger aircraft freight revenues of $555m in 2014, a rise of 13.7 per cent, while freighter aircraft revenues rose at a slower pace of 9.1 per cent to $418m.
Turkish Airlines group sales revenue increased by 13 per cent in 2014, reaching a total of $11bn. Operating profit stood at $638m, more than doubling compared to the previous year, while the Turkish flag carrier saw a net profit of $845m.
Turkish Airlines now operates 263 aircraft comprising 55 widebody, 199 narrow body and nine cargo aircraft. Turkish Cargo opened a new terminal at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport in January this year.
