Turkish Cargo has reported another month of strong cargo growth in May.

The Istanbul-hubbed airline saw sold tonnage increase by 7.1% year on year during the month, according to World ACD data.

This compares with an industry wide decline of 5.1% during the same period.

The airline said that growth was particularly strong on its Asian and American services.

Volumes were up 34.4% at its American region, 19.3% in Asia and 12.2% in the Middle East/South Asia.

The airline pointed out that the growth came following the re-location of its passenger operation to Istanbul Airport in April.

Its all-cargo services continue to fly from Ataturk, with a truck service running between the two.
