Turkish Cargo, which was recently crowned as the Cargo Airline of the Year by Air Cargo News, recorded an 11.6% increase in sold cargo tonnage during the first quarter of the year, despite the overall industry declining globally by 3.1%.

Quoting statistics from analyst WorldACD, the carrier said that it recorded the "most growth" on the Asian and American markets.

The carrier achieved a growth rate of 15.4% in the Asian market, which declined by 4.4%. In the Americas region it increased by 29.1%, while the market shrank by 3.1%.

"National air carrier enjoyed positive results in all regions it operated," Turkish Cargo said.

The carrier is currently operating out of both Ataturk and Istanbul airports under a "Dual Hub" strategy.
