TURKISH Airlines’ cargo division recorded an increase of 23.7 per cent in freight carried from 313,517 metric tonnes in 2010 to 387,703 tonnes during 2011.
“We are ranked eighth amongst European airlines for cargo and for our five-year projection we have a goal of being in the top five,” Soner Akkurt Turkish Cargo senior vice-president, told Air Cargo News. “Also for the Turkish market our current share of 59 per cent is to be increased to 65 per cent in five years.”
