Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Cargo has signed up to continue operating three weekly Boeing 777 Freighter flights into Rickenbacker International Airport on behalf of Trinity Logistics USA.
Trinity’s business focuses on the high fashion industry, forwarding garments from exporters in Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Hanoi (Vietnam) to Rickenbacker – a dedicated cargo airport with foreign trade zone status.
The extended contract (originally signed in 2016) will also see the addition of an onward Etihad Cargo freighter service from the Columbus, Ohio gateway to East Midlands Airport in the UK.
Abdulla Mohamed Shadid, Etihad Airways managing director cargo and logistics services, said: “The long-term extension of our agreement with Trinity is an endorsement of the positive working relationship we enjoyed over the past years.
“It reaffirms Etihad’s commitment to fostering global logistics partnerships, and enhances our network by focusing on key successful trade lanes.”
He pointed to the efficiency of the B777F as key to making such partnerships possible.
