LATAM Cargo is transporting a total of 196 horses for show jumping events at the Pan American Games currently taking place in Chile.
The airline transported horses from the US, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, and Paraguay on its Boeing 767 freighters.
In total, the company transported 91 horses to Chile to participate in the international tournament, and after the competitions are concluded, 105 horses will return to their countries of origin.
The airline said that preparations began three months before the sporting event, which runs from October 20 to November 5.
This included the coordination of a series of details such as optimal routes, stables, horse teams, and professional caregivers accompanying the horses.
The horses are attended to throughout the flight, receiving supplies of water, forage, and food, with attention from veterinarians to accompany them during the journey, LATAM Cargo said.
