The Transport Logistic team has announced that the event, which also hosts Air Cargo Europe, will not go ahead as a live event this year.

The organisers are instead planning on hosting an online conference between May 4 and May 6.

The next physical Transport Logistic event is due to take place in 2023 from May 9 to 12.

The event organiser, Messe München, said that Covid-19 related travel restrictions had made it impossible for the event to take place.

"Our customers would have to start detailed planning for Transport Logistic now and need planning security. The still ongoing dynamic infection as well as the resulting travel restrictions make it impossible to successfully hold transport logistic at the beginning of May," explained Stefan Rummel, managing director of Messe München.

"For this reason, on the recommendation of and in consultation with the exhibitor advisory board, we have decided to cancel Transport Logistic 2021."

"Transport Logistic remains the most important hub for B2B networking in the global logistics industry.

"The new digital formats and their further development will continue to enrich our trade shows in the future and make networking more efficient and better than ever."

Transport Logistic is not the only event to be cancelled this year; Air Cargo Africa due to take place in February has been cancelled while IATA's World Cargo symposium has been moved from March to October.

Most air cargo events were cancelled last year.
