The Europa Air & Sea division of logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group, said its airfreight import volumes grew 3% in August 2015 compared with the same month last year.

Dartford, UK-based Europa Worldwide Group said its Air & Sea division had gone “from strength to strength” after it was launched as a dedicated business last year. In July, it saw a 17% growth in its combined sea and air freight import volumes, compared to the same period in 2014.

Director of Europa Air & Sea, Angus Hind, said: “We’re really pleased with where the business is heading and at the response we’ve had from customers so far. We’re still a relatively small player in the world of air and sea, but we are growing and we have big ambitions and plans to keep expanding – building our customer base and our product offering.”

Hind pointed out that a significant proportion of Europa’s business is on the Asia-Europe trade route, “and at a time when the industry outlook is a little underwhelming compared with where it was last year, we are gaining momentum and are in a strong position as we head in to what should be the traditional peak season period.”
