SkyCell and Du Pont have announced a strategic alliance for the pharmaceuticals cool chain sector.
SkyCell, which manufactures temperature-controlled containers for food and pharmaceuticals, will link up with DuPont Safety & Construction (DuPont), a division of DowDuPont, one of the world’s largest specialty product companies.
A joint statement said that the alliance will “leverage SkyCell’s temperature-controlled containers and its logger and data platforms for DuPont Tyvek Cargo Covers, the most innovative pallet blanket for pharmaceuticals, to ensure the safe delivery of pharmaceuticals worldwide”.
Additionally, both companies are going to share data collection know-how in the area of cold chain transportation of temperature sensitive goods.
Richard Ettl, SkyCell chief executive, said: “We are excited to be entering into the next stage of our journey by collaborating with DuPont for their Tyvek Cargo Covers, a trusted brand of protection in pharmaceutical logistics.
“With a shared vision of innovation in the supply chain of sensitive pharmaceuticals, this alliance shall help us to ensure that consumers are guaranteed a safe, sustainable service and further improve the offering through a data-driven approach.”

Ettl added that the alliance between the fourth largest provider of airfreight containers for pharmaceuticals and Du Pont is “the first of many big things to come”.
