The Singapore Airshow 2018 was the setting for the conclusion of an Open Skis Agreement between Singapore and Guyana on February 4.
The Air Services Agreement allows the airlines of Singapore and Guyana to operate any number of services between the two countries and on to any third country. There will be no restrictions on capacity, frequency, aircraft type or routeing.
Cargo carriers from each nation will be allowed to base aircraft in each other’s countries and operate from there to any third country as well.
Minister for Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport Ng Chee Meng – one of the signatories – commented: “This agreement will open up new opportunities for our carriers, enable greater movement of people and goods between the two countries, and benefit our economies and businesses.”
He described the deal as a “testament to the strong bilateral partnership between Singapore and Guyana”.
