SEKO Logistics has appointed Shawn Richard vice president global airfreight – a new position set up in response to increasing demand driven by booming cross-border e-commerce.

Chief commercial officer, Americas, Terry Unrein, said: “SEKO’s roots are in airfreight but the real significance today is how it is driving the growth of our cross-border eCommerce business and encouraging us to introduce home delivery products like our new Airfreight+ Final Mile service in North America.”

With 2018 on track to be a record year for SEKO’s airfreight volumes, Unrein highlighted Richard’s broad experience – including carrier management, procurement and, most importantly, cross-border e-commerce – as “key” to the company’s Global Air strategy.

Richard’s previous roles include positions with the predecessor to DHL Global Forwarding in Miami, Geodis, Worldnet Shipping USA and Delta Airlines Cargo.

Unrein himself returned to SEKO in his current role in October 2017 after a spell at Crane Worldwide Logistics; he had previously been SEKO’s vice president global sales.
