Seko Logistics has opened its first Centre of Excellence for the UK aerospace and aviation sector at Farnborough Airport near London.

Seko already has similar centres in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific, while its global aerospace and aviation headquarters is in Dallas, the second largest aerospace market in the world.

Farnborough was chosen as the base for its UK specialists as it is the home of the country’s aerospace industry.

The logistics company forecasts strong growth in the industry over the next 5-7 years. Director, Dean Townsend said: “Aviation is one of our largest industry verticals and certainly one of the fastest-growing.

"Our software as a service (SaaS) solutions are unique to Seko and give our customers total visibility of their assets in the supply chain. All of the vital supply chain information is accessible online and is fast and easy-to-use, eliminating time-consuming paper processes.”

A transport management system allows customers to shop around for the best pricing, consolidate orders, customize and run reports, and audit freight bills.

A warehouse management system allows customers to optimise inventories by automatically identifying and assigning the nearest available part for each shipment, helping to reduce transport costs, transit and turn-times, and avoids shipment overlap.

The technology offering also includes integrated GPS devices within its software for cargo tracking.

Seko Logistics’ aerospace and aviation services also provide full support for customs compliance and export licenses, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
