Dirk Schusdziara has been appointed to head Frankfurt’s freight development and freight management team for German airport operator Fraport.

Schusdziara, who takes up his new role from August, joined Fraport in 1996 and has held a number of senior roles which include a three year spell at Frankfurt from 2003 when he led the strategic development of the airport facility management.

He has also held key roles at Fraport subsidiary airports, including the chief operating officer at Cairo – where he helped the development of a new terminal. Schusdziara was then responsible for the successful development of Bulgaria’s Varna and Burgas airports, and since 2012 has been at Antalya airport in Turkey.

Said Schusdziara: “Frankfurt is the most modern and innovative cargo hub in Europe. The viewpoints of the customers are important to me. Together with my team I look forward to growing the attraction of Frankfurt as a freight hub through innovative developments and market-oriented products and services.”
