Fast-growing Scan Global Logistics (SGL) is continuing its expansion with the addition of a new office in France.
The Denmark-based freight forwarder has added a new office in Dunkirk to cater for the industrial projects sector and bringing its representation in France to three centres.
The company, which opened its first office in France in 2021, said it plans to add more offices in the future.
Staff numbers in the country have grown sevenfold during that time.
SGL global chief executive Allan Melgaard said: "Organic growth is central to our expansion strategy. As with France, it's governed by our promise to uncomplicate our customers' world where they need our comprehensive supply chain solutions."
"Following several successful break bulk and heavy lift projects for global customers, the new office in Dunkirk plays a vital role in SGL France's ambition to become the most significant player in the general cargo and Industrial Projects market in Northern France," the company said in a press release.
The new office is part of wider expansion efforts. Since 2020 the company has opened offices in 11 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
It is also represented in 45 countries, up from 17 countries in 2016, and it has the ambition to reach 60 countries in the coming years.
Johann Taccoen, who will become industrial project director in collaboration with Olivier Sainterent, managing director France, said: 'We have handpicked industry professionals with over 15 years of breakbulk and heavy lift experience to serve customers with complex, oversized, heavy transport requirements across all major industries.
"In particular, we will support and help grow our customers' businesses within industrial projects, aid and relief, and defence."
