Saudia Cargo signed a collaboration deal with Middle East aircraft maintenance company Saudia Technic at the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh on May 20.
Under the five year agreement, which will take effect by the end of September 2025, Saudia Cargo will lease and operate 6,000 sq m of space at Saudia Technic's Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) Village at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which serves airlines throughout the Middle East.
The partners say that the alliance will allow both parties to optimise resources and save costs through shared facilities, exchange knowledge and transfer skill transfers between the air cargo and aircraft maintenance care sectors.
Saudia Technic chief executive Captain Fahd Cynndy said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Saudia Cargo and welcome them to Saudia Technic’s MRO Village. We're not just establishing a contractual agreement, we're embracing a future characterized by partnership and ingenuity.
"This strategic partnership highlights our steadfast dedication to quality, heralding a new era in optimization, expansion, and customer-centric solutions within the aviation industry."
His opposite number at Saudia Cargo, Teddy Zebitz, added: “At Saudia Cargo, we are thrilled to embark on a new chapter of collaboration and innovation as we relocate our headquarters to join Saudia Technic’s MRO village. This strategic move not only reinforces our commitment to operational excellence but also paves the way for synergies that will drive efficiency, growth, and customer satisfaction.
"Together, we look forward to shaping the future of air cargo and aircraft maintenance services with a united vision and shared expertise.”
