On 29 May in Casablanca, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and Etihad Airways signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the joint development of their cargo activities.

A RAM statement described the two airlines’ networks as “complementary” and, as such, offering potential for commercial synergies. Through its partnership with Etihad Airways Cargo, RAM Cargo is able to strengthen its network and reach new markets, the statement noted.

From its home hub in Casablanca, RAM serves around 100 destinations, with flights including daily cargo services to European and African airports. The Moroccan airline also carries freight bound for the Americas from Abu Dhabi – Etihad’s base – via Casablanca.

The MoU was signed in the presence Abdelhamid Addou, president and director general at Royal Air Maroc, by Etihad Airways senior vice president cargo David Kerr and Royal Air Maroc cargo director Amine El Farissi (pictured).
