Rock-it

Live music logistics firms Rock-it and Sound Moves are combining their operations as they prepare for the live events to get back underway.

The companies are both subsidiaries of Rock-it Cargo USA and the move will see the merger of offices, vendor networks and expertise.

The move comes after a tough 12 months for the live events sector, with the Covid-19 virus putting the breaks on music tours.

However, the companies are optimistic that the rollout of vaccine programmes will see the sector begin to open back up this year.

Sound Moves chief executive and president Duane Wood, who will be chief strategy officer at the merged entity, said: "It’s time to get excited about the future, come together and be the best we can be, jump on all the pent-up energy and optimism of a new year, successful vaccines and the shared will of our client base to get back to business."

David Bernstein, non-executive chairman of the board of Rock-it Cargo Holdings, added: “We’ve reorganised Rock-it in a way that we believe will provide for the best customer experience and expertise available in global entertainment logistics.

“The time our people have been off the road has allowed us to internally assess our strengths and ask how we could be stronger and more prepared when our clients signaled it would be time to get back out. This move positions us for what lies ahead.”

In late spring the merged entity plans to unveil a new company logo, website and leadership teams.
