PEMCO World Air Services has redelivered a converted Boeing 737-300QC (Quick Change) to Automatic, a US-based aircraft leasing company.

US-based passenger to freighter conversion specialist PEMCO said that the aircraft, built in 1998, is to be operated by Mistral Air based in Italy.

Mistral Air is one of the main Italian air operators in the medium-haul charter arena, and is the only air company funded by Italian capital operating jet aircraft in the cargo sector.

The company was purchased by the Poste Italiane Group in 2002 and now Mistral Air operates night time postal transport on behalf of Poste Italiane, using Boeing 737-300 QC, Boeing 737-400 and ATR42F aircraft.

Said PEMCO: “With the freight hauling capacity of eight full-size containers, and the versatility of a 45-minute changeover time to passenger configuration, the 300QC provides optimum versatility.”

The aircraft was converted at PEMCO’s Tampa facility, and the latest passenger-to-QC conversion adds to Mistral Air’s growing fleet used to support postal and on-demand charter operations.
