Qatar Airways Cargo and Xiamen Airlines are partnering on bellyhold capacity on flights between China and Qatar.

Xiamen Airlines will launch daily flights between Beijing’s Daxing International Airport (PKX) and Doha’s Hamad International Airport, starting on October 20 and utilising Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Then, on October 31, the carrier will add two weekly flights from Xiamen (XMN), the special economic zone of Fujian Sheng province, to Doha, using a 787-8 aircraft.

In total, the nine weekly flights will offer 100 tonnes of cargo capacity.

Qatar Airways Cargo will be able to offer the belly capacity to its customers.

Elisabeth Oudkerk, senior vice president cargo sales and network, said: “China has always been a key market for us and our customers. We are delighted to be able to offer our clients even more capacity.

"We will now serve nine destinations in Mainland China, offering over 2,800 weekly tonnes of cargo capacity."

Tong Qianju, vice president of Xiamen Airlines Cargo, added: “Xiamen Airlines Cargo is very happy to expand its network reach for the first time to the Middle East.

"Qatar is a huge hub for air cargo in the Middle East, and this relationship with Qatar Airways Cargo strengthens Xiamen Airlines’ commitment to air cargo excellence."
