Outsourced ULD (unit-load device) management and repair company Chep Aerospace Solutions and ULD short-term leasing specialist, ACL Airshop have signed an agreement offer customers an expanded fleet and service network.
The move creates the world’s largest ULD pool and will increase ACL Airshop’s network from 32 airports stocking ULDs, nets and straps to 68 stations across the globe. CHEP will gain access to ACL Airshop's network and ULD fleet, along with its pallet net and strap production.
The two partners added that they would explore joint service offerings in other areas and ensure security of supply for their current and future customers.
Chep Aerospace Solutions president, Dr Ludwig Bertsch, said: "Our cooperation with ACL Airshop will enable Chep Aerospace Solutions to continue to develop smarter MRO and ULD management solutions."
ACL Airshop general manager, Jos Jacobsen described the deal as “a watershed moment in the ULD leasing market. Airlines and charter companies will now have unparalleled global access to the highest quality products, 24/7 service, and extremely competitive pricing."
