US-based PEMCO World Air Services (PEMCO) has confirmed the redelivery of a converted passenger to freighter (P2F) Boeing 737-400F to AerCaribe, a charter airline serving Colombia.
The P2F agreement was secured in the first quarter of 2015, and the first plane redelivered May, said aircraft conversion specialist PEMCO. The second aircraft is planned for induction later this year.
The 737-400F (MSN 24431), converted at PEMCO’s Tampa facility, will be the first of its kind for the AerCaribe fleet.
PEMCO’s 737-400F offers 11 pallet positions, a full-featured cargo loading system with retractable sill plate and over-rideable side restraints, all engineered to deliver good reliability and a 48,000lbs (22 tonnes) maximum payload.
AerCaribe was founded in 1997 as an operator of charter flights in and out of Colombia. AerCaribe’s main base of operations is located in Bogota, with sub-base operations in San José del Guaviare, and Lima, Peru. The company’s fleet includes Beechcraft-200, Antonoc-26 and Antonov-32 aircraft.
