PEMCO World Air Services, the aircraft conversion and MRO firm, has promoted John Wing from the position of programme manager to senior MRO manager.

He is to be based in Tampa, Florida, where PEMCO has 340,000 sq ft of hangar space. From there, he will oversee all PEMCO’s maintenance operations.

Indeed, as senior MRO manager, Wing will be responsible for the overall operation of the maintenance department, including acting as recognised authority with the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other regulatory entities and overseeing new business development, aircraft delivery schedules, manpower and man-hours, budgets, training, and maintaining facilities, equipment and tooling.

PEMCO offers heavy and line maintenance services for airlines and private operators, but is also well known for its passenger to freighter (P2F) aircraft conversion work, as part of which it has modified more than 350 aircraft. It offers both 737-400 and 737-400 conversions.

PEMCO was recently acquired by Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services, Inc, a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group.
