Pharma packaging firm Peli BioThermal has relocated its US headquarters (HQ) from Plymouth to Maple Grove, both in Minnesota, to increase its production capabilities.

The company said its new space is 40% larger than its old facility, positioning it to meet increasing demand for the thermal packaging solutions that support the movement of pharma goods - including blood supplies, tissues, biologics and vaccines - during transit.

The new 100,000 sq ft space will include additional production lines and will have “room for future growth”.

David Williams, president of Peli BioThermal, commented: “Covid-19 vaccines and therapeutics created unprecedented demand for temperature controlled packaging.

“Fast-growing markets like cell and gene therapy will continue to increase demand and the need for product innovation. Our new building will allow us to achieve the capacity we need to grow and evolve alongside our customers.”

Earlier this year Peli BioThermal revealed plans to launch an additional portfolio of thermal shippers, rental programs, outsourcing services and new technology that will "connect all aspects of the cold chain" for its customers.

The company is also adding new service centres to increase its global network.
