AFTER the December 2010 introduction of its Da Nang branch in Vietnam and in line with its expansion plans for the region, logistics service provider Dimerco Express Group has opened three new liaison offices in India. The offices locations are in New Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore. Dimerco Express Group now has a total number of 27 offices in Southeast Asia, as well as three in Australia.
Air Logistics Group has opened an office in Bratislava, Slovakia. From 14 March the new branch will build on the general sales and services agent’s activities in the country over the last 10 years, which have been managed remotely from the Czech Republic. Air Logistics Group now has branches in 31 countries.
DB Schenker in the Philippines has recently inaugurated a new central facility in Manila. Three units that had previously been located in Metro Manila are now located in a central complex in the Sabrina Compound in Sucat/Paranaque City. The new facility provides 2,400m2 of office space for the corporate office and accommodates the teams for air and ocean freight, customs clearance, special projects and contract logistics. “Particularly for customers in the consumer electronics sector, we intend to further expand our network of locations, primarily in the Asia/Pacific region,” Thomas Lieb (pictured), chairman of the management board of Schenker, said.
Kerry Logistics has opened two new logistics centres in Chongqing and Kunshan in China. The first phase of the Chongqing Kerry Logistics Centre has a total area of 20,500m2 and is strategically located at a hub with connections to regional airports, ports, rail and the business district. The centres will offer a full range of storage and value-added services including VMI, pick-and-pack, reverse logistics, labelling, packing, JIT service and regional distribution.
