Norwegian carrier Norse Atlantic Airways and air charter specialist Chapman Freeborn have placed their capacity on air cargo booking platform WebCargo by Freightos to enable real-time booking by forwarders.
The partnership means forwarders will have access to instant eBooking and payment options on WebCargo for Norse Atlantic flights to and from Europe to seven destinations in the US for technology, perishables, and other shipments.
“We’re excited to play a supporting role in Norse Atlantic’s growth as their primary air cargo digital sales platform. It’s a win-win for all–the thousands of forwarders currently on WebCargo, who will benefit from the increased cargo capacity, and the speed and flexibility of WebCargo’s unparalleled platform has the power to boost Norse’s cargo sales and brand growth,” said Manel Galindo, chief executive of WebCargo.
Later this year, Norse plans to open capacity from London to Barbados and Jamaica, and from Oslo to Thailand, further expanding WebCargo’s footprint in Asia and the Caribbean.
“Cargo will play an important role in the future of Norse. Partnering with WebCargo is a testament to our commitment to innovation and to delivering exceptional services to our customers,” said Jennifer Bendelow, head of cargo at Norse Atlantic Airways.
Norse Atlantic Airways exclusively operates Boeing 787 Dreamliners. In the US, Norse Atlantic Airways recently relocated its operations at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Miami International Airport, offering access to South America.
Chapman Freeborn
Additionally, Chapman Freeborn has become the first and only charter broker to be integrated with WebCargo. The integration will commence in early October and there are plans for more capacity to be added in the future.
Chapman Freeborn routinely organises part-charters, backloads and other commercially innovative solutions for ad hoc, peak season and project cargo, providing forwarders with air cargo capacity that is now available on WebCargo.
This global capacity includes routes such as Europe to Africa, Asia, the Middle East and the United States, as well as hard-to-reach areas.
Reto Hunziker, president – Europe at Chapman Freeborn, said: “Chapman Freeborn facilitates 29,000 flights per year and has covered over nine million air miles. We have a track record of providing the best air cargo charter experience and our strategic focus is on our customers’ air cargo needs.
"Our partnership with WebCargo by Freightos will create further visibility and awareness of our brand, help us gain deeper market penetration and enable our customers to benefit from the speed and flexibility of WebCargo’s unparalleled platform.”
Manel Galindo, chief executive of WebCargo, added: “The addition of Chapman Freeborn’s capacity into WebCargo’s platform means freight forwarders in some 10,000 offices worldwide will gain instant access to their vast and unparalleled global network, covering routes such as Liège to Chicago, Dubai and Singapore.
"Our combined strengths will provide competitive rates and a seamless booking and payment experience for forwarders who already conduct thousands of bookings every day on our platform.”
