Freighter firm Network Airline Management has transported a number of race cars from Nairobi to Liege, following the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally event, which ended this week.

The company organised a Boeing 747 (TF-AMU) to carry four Hyundai Motorsport rally cars, spare parts and ancillary equipment, which weighed a total of 27 tonnes.

Network Airline Management said it used its "highly trained, efficient team of cargo crew and ground staff" to load and unload the special cargo.

David Odori, sales executive at the company's Nairobi base, commented: “The cars have certainly had a good run out as they are completely unrecognisable compared to when they originally flew down for the rally.”
