MASkargo and DHL Express are partnering on a door-to-door delivery service to reflect changing consumer habits.
The carrier said that the service would utilise a web portal to allow customers to get quotation, book for delivery, pay online, print consignment notes and track shipments.
Shipments can be delivered to 99% of Malaysia and more than 200 countries worldwide.
MASKargo will transport packages in the air and DHL Express will provide the back-end services of picking up and delivery of goods to recipients.
The service will be launched on April 24.
MASkargo’s chief executive Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh said: "MASkargo’s business model has always been on the airport-to-airport concept.
"However, the evolution of customers’ purchasing style and expectations in the delivery of goods purchased today has highlighted the need for us to be closer to our customers.
"After many discussions related to the technical details of this new service, we are pleased to have found a reliable partner in DHL.
"With the objective of making this service a comprehensive end-to-end solution for the public, we hope to leverage on each other’s expertise and network in giving the best delivery service to our customers.”
DHL Express Malaysia and Brunei managing director Julian Neo Poh Choon said that recent research from DHL indicated that 80% of all B2B sales interactions between suppliers and professional buyers will take place in digital channels by 2025.
