DB Schenker airfreight boss Thomas Mack is joining Deutsche Post DHL, in a story broken by German trade paper DVZ.

Mack will lead DP DHL's air cargo business from July 1.

A spokesperson for DP DHL said: "We can confirm that Thomas Mack will be joining DHL Global Forwarding and take on the position Global Head of Air Freight effective July 1, 2018. He will report directly to Tobias Meyer, COO DHL Global Forwarding.

"Thomas takes over from Ingo-Alexander Rahn, who has led the DGF Global Air Freight business since October 2011, and who remains in a senior executive position within Deutsche Post DHL Group."

A spokesperson for DB Schenker said: "Tom Mack who has been with Schenker for more than 16 years has decided to leave Schenker. Tom has passionately shaped the successful growth journey in Air Freight with unrivaled dedication and commitment.

"We thank Tom for his outstanding contribution over many years and wish him all the best for his future."
