Lufthansa Cargo is now offering Envirotainer’s Releye RAP temperature-controlled container to firms transporting pharmaceuticals.
Envirotainer launched the RAP version of its Releye container in February, and the first commercial shipment using the container was in March.
The RAP version of the Releye container is the largest model of the container and can hold five pallets, compared with the existing 2021 model’s three pallets.

Envirotainer has said the larger capacity of the Releye RAP means the container is more efficient than smaller temperature-controlled containers and offers a lower carbon footprint.
The container is monitored through a control tower service as standard.
The unit uses rechargeable batteries, with a single battery charge able to power the system for over 170 hours.
It also offers live monitoring for product condition, location, temperature, humidity, battery levels, door openings, if cargo is loaded or not, and the progress of shipments.
In June, Envirotainer was sold by private equity firm Cinven and co-investor Novo Holdings to private equity firm, EQT, and investment company Mubadala.
