Germany's Independent Flight Attendant’s Organisation (UFO) has agreed immediately to call off the strikes at Lufthansa announced for Thursday, Friday and next Monday after progress was made in talks with the airline's management.

Lufthansa said that UFO has agreed to forgo strikes "until at least the 2nd of December", when an employment summit will take place.

In separate negotiations, European freighter airline Cargolux is meeting today with two unions representing the majority of its pilots, in an effort to resolve a long-running dispute and to lift the threat of industrial action by air crew.
