Lars Jordahn has been appointed global head of Maersk Air Cargo, effective March 1.
Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Jordahn will take over the chief executive role from Peter Corfitsen, who is going to transition into a new role in Maersk, the company told Air Cargo News.
Jordahn has over 30 years of experience in global and executive roles in aviation and logistics.
His most recent role has been chief executive of Swedish freighter lessor and operator, West Atlantic. He took up the role in January 2019 and left in December last year after five years.
Prior to this, he also served as managing director global airlines for TNT Airways, based in Liege, Belgium.
Other roles have included managing director of Swedish regional cargo and passenger airline Amapola Flyg, and managing director of DHL Express Sweden.
Maersk recently said it would now consider making an offer for top-4 airfreight forwarder DB Schenker after previously dismissing the idea.
