Jettainer, the Frankfurt-based provider of outsourced ULD management services, and DoKaSch, a Staudt, Germany-headquartered manufacturer and repair service provider of air freight containers and pallets, have signed a new collaborative deal at the World Cargo Symposium (WCS) under way in Berlin this week.
The aim of this deal is to improve their offering in terms of ULD repair: accelerating repair throughput times while maintaining quality of service. Jettainer and DoKaSch hope to make this possible through such measures as the use of a high-tech IT system that offers the two companies “simple and fast communications with improved data quality” – according to a Jettainer statement. The system will allow enquiries to be handled in real time, while it will also now be possible to analyse large amounts of data in order to identify possible efficiencies. It will be easier, for instance, to identify the causes of damage to a ULD, possibly allowing the manufacturer to come up with new designs capable of dealing with such occurrences.
Jettainer and DoKaSch have enjoyed a long-standing partnership, but this latest deal is seen as an important step forward. “It’s our aspiration to continue developing both the ULDs themselves and all the management processes too. These constant innovations are an essential component in our corporate philosophy, because they enable us to offer the best product in the market place in terms of quality and efficiency,” says Carsten Hernig, Jettainer managing director.
In another development, DoKaSch was awarded Jettainer’s ‘Certified Repair Partner’ quality seal during the WCS. Such certification requires a Jettainer partner to provide evidence that it complies with the company’s quality guidelines during an audit. Marcus Franke, the authorised signatory and manager of the ‘Standard ULDs’ business unit within the DoKaSch group, enthused: “This confirms our high-quality and efficient MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) services, which we’ve been providing for our customers for a long time, particularly at Frankfurt Airport.
“These business relationships founded on trust provide the basis for us to be able to constantly make further developments to our products as a production company for the benefit of our customers,” Franke added.
