IAG Cargo, the freight wing of the Anglo-Spanish carrier concern, has flown a collection of 18 portraits of David Beckham for a Hong Kong-based, VIP auction preview of ‘David Beckham: the Man’, in support of 7: The David Beckham UNICEF Fund and Positive View Foundation.

The event forms part of a three-year global philanthropic programme and exhibition of signed contemporary photography featuring Beckham, the former footballer who played for England and clubs including Manchester United. The photographs travelled 6,000 miles from London Heathrow to Hong Kong on IAG Cargo’s Secure service

IAG Cargo worked closely with Momart, a specialist in the transport of valuable pieces of art. The latter’s team carefully packed each item in high quality materials prior to shipping.

Daniel Johnson, manager global products at IAG Cargo, observed: “We invest heavily in our staff and products to give customers the network and products they need. Through our Secure product, we ensure that our customers’ high value products are delivered safely, on time and in pristine condition.”

Andrew Page, CEO and founder of the Positive View foundation, added: “When organising a global event, the safe transportation of such important artwork is crucial. IAG Cargo’s careful management of our portraits and its rigorous security service meant that we felt reassured about the shipment of the artwork every step of the way.”

The auction of the photography will take place in the spring of this year.
