IAG Cargo and Exelsius have announced their pharmaceuticals Good Distribution Practice (GDP) Academy workshop programme for 2016.
The new workshops will follow the successful format of those held in London and Hyderabad, combining classroom training in the correct handling of temperature sensitive pharma products with a ‘live’ visit to an airport airside area.
Workshops planned are in London, Heathrow, 3-4 February; Dublin, Ireland, 17-18 May; Atlanta, US, 13-14 July and Asia (location to be announced), 27-28 September.
Students will be able to witness the handling process at either the Constant Climate Centre Heathrow, or the temperature controlled handling facilities at the appointed IAG Cargo handling agency in other locations.
In a joint statement, Alan Dorling, global head of pharmaceuticals & life sciences at IAG Cargo, and Tony Wright, chief executive of pharma consultants Exelsius, said: “As the regulatory requirements of GDP become ever more important, training is not only essential but also a vital step in the collaborative nature of the pharmaceutical and life sciences supply chain.
“This course will appeal to manufacturers, logistics service providers, forwarders, airlines, ground handling companies and anyone else involved in the safe transportation of these products by air.”
