Aerospace logistics company B&H Worldwide has ordered that all local cargo collections, deliveries and corporate passenger travel at its London Heathrow base should be carried out only by battery electric vehicles, as of February 2024.
The company says that the move will enhance its environmental commitment and will be a key pillar of its global social responsibility at its UK headquarters. It will be followed by similar moves at its hubs around the world.
Head of UK operations, Alan Barlow, explained: “Actions speak louder than words and we are committed not only to reducing our own carbon emissions but those of our customers too. By introducing electric vehicles into our fleet and mandating their use for all local collections and deliveries, we assist our customers in meeting their own sustainability objectives.”
In the past, B&H has encouraged car sharing wherever possible to reduce the overall number of journeys, resulting in significant CO2 reductions, it says.
