Thai Airways has selected Aero Cargo Belgium to provide GSA services on its route to Brussels as it looks to capitalise on the city's growing pharma market.

The agreement started on 1 February and covers Thai Airways’ service running between Brussels and Bangkok.

The service operates on a daily basis using a Boeing 787-800 aircraft that can offer a cargo capacity of up to 15 tons.

The two companies said the new partnership would have a particular focus on pharmaceutical shipments.

ECS Group-owned Aero Cargo Belgium added that Thai Airways would also utilise a range of its digital tools as part of the tie-up.

“This agreement is a significant milestone for Aero Cargo Belgium,” said Bert Moortgat, managing director of Aero Cargo Belgium.

“With daily flights and access to a network of vital destinations in Asia-Pacific, we are able to offer our customers unparalleled opportunities to connect their goods to global markets efficiently and reliably, particularly for high-value and sensitive commodities such as pharmaceuticals.”

Aero Cargo Belgium added that, from Bangkok, Thai Airways can offer onward shipping to destinations in Australia, Korea, India, Japan, Manila, and Singapore.
