AUTOMOTIVE logistics specialist GEFCO UK has appointed Charlie Weale as its new sales and marketing director.
He is charged with leading the development of sales and promotional strategies as the company focuses on increasing visibility and generating commercial opportunities in air, ocean and international logistics, says a statement.
With more than 30 years of transport and logistics experience, having previously worked in senior operational and sales roles for Geodis and Norbert Dentressangle, Weale replaces John Stocker, who was recently appointed as GEFCO UK’s finished vehicle logistics director.
“Our automotive and aftermarket business is expanding strongly and I look forward to supporting this growth,” says Weale.
Present in 150 countries, GEFCO is one of the top 10 European logistics groups. It achieved revenues of €3.6 billion in 2013 and employs a staff of 11,200.
The group, which has some 300 facilities worldwide, is developing in central Asia, central and eastern Europe, the Middle East, eastern Asia and South America, says a spokesperson.
