Global Critical Logistics (GCL) has appointed Amanda Barlow as vice president of risk management and business affairs.

In her new role, Barlow will manage the group's various insurance programmes and the company’s global ATA Carnet programmes to "promote future growth and provide subject matter expertise across the company’s brands".

She previously served as senior vice president with Roanoke Insurance Group and is also a member of the board of directors for the Airforwarders Association (AFA) and chairs AFA’s Technology and Cybersecurity Committee.

Barlow also sits on the US Department of Commerce’s District Export Council of Southern California.

“Amanda has her finger on the pulse of the industry and boasts an impressive portfolio of expertise in client experience and product development that we are keen to leverage,” said Daniel Rosenthal, president and chief executive, GCL.

“She is also uniquely suited to lead our ATA Carnet programme as she was directly involved in the development of the US’ ATA Carnet programme during her time with Roanoke, liaising with the US Council for International Business.”

GCL subsidiary Rock-it Global was recently chosen by the US Council for International Business to pilot the country's first digital ATA Carnet programme.
