Istanbul-headquartered MNG Airlines has taken delivery of a leased Airbus A330-300 passenger-to-freighter (P2F) aircraft to take its fleet to 12 freighters.
Leased from aircraft investment specialist and asset manager Stratos, the A330P2F was converted by Germany-based Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW) in Dresden.
The A330P2F, registered as TC-MCP, was converted in May last year. At least two of the three other A330P2Fs currently operated by MNG were converted by EFW.
Ali Sedat Özkazanç, chief executive of MNG Airlines, stated: “As MNG Airlines, we are very pleased to be partnering with Stratos. The addition of the new A330-300P2F to our fleet marks a major step toward expanding our global logistics network and delivering even more efficient solutions to our customers.
"We extend our sincere thanks to the Stratos team for their support and look forward to strengthening our partnership for years to come!”
Camille Pousseur, marketing director at Stratos, added: “We are delighted to have placed this A330-300P2F with a steadily growing carrier and we look forward to deepening this highly collaborative relationship.
"As a new customer of Stratos, the MNG team has been great to deal with and we are proud to be a part of this airline’s continued expansion."
MNG offers both capacity on scheduled flights and charter options. As well as its four Airbus A330-300P2Fs, the airline currently has a fleet of three Airbus A300-600P2Fs- one of which is currently parked and one of which is operating for DHL Aviation, two A330-200Fs, two A321-200P2Fs and one Airbus A300C4-600F.
The freighter operator offers international cargo services to and from Europe, the Middle East and Africa through its own flights and partnerships with other airlines.
While MNG continues to build its fleet, in 2023 the airline halted its plan to merge with private equity company Golden Falcon Acquisition as part of its strategy to become a publicly-listed US company on the New York Stock Exchange.
