Air Charter Service (ACS) arranged just under 2,700 cargo charters in 2014, an increase of almost 29 per cent on the year before, the UK-headquartered broker states.
The total amount of cargo flown by ACS in 2014 was nearly 37,000 tonnes. The extra freight charters contributed to the largest ever single jump in business, a 20 per cent rise in total charters, to over 9,000 contracts last year.
Group chief executive Justin Bowman said the figures were “a great testament to our staff’s work ethic and professionalism as we saw a rise in almost every division across all of our 18 offices. In fact all three of our divisions had double digit percentage growth.”
Bowman added that ACS, on average, books “just over one charter contract an hour, every hour of every day, many consisting of multiple sectors.”
The company is also celebrating its 25th anniversary since it was formed by chairman Chris Leach in the basement of his family home in 1990, dealing with just a handful of contracts.
