Frankfurt Airport saw its June cargo throughput (airfreight + airmail) increase by 4.7% to 188,256 tonnes, "supported by ongoing economic growth, particularly in the eurozone's industrial sector".
Frankfurt's cargo volume grew by 4.8%in the first half of 2017, reaching almost 1.1m tonnes - the highest first-half volume achieved in the past six years, said a spokesperson for the airport authority.
Two UK airports, both owned by the MAG Group, have also reported their June airfreight cargo results.
The volume of cargo passing through Stansted continues to rise with over 22,000 tonnes of goods, products and mail being transported during the month.
The annual total now stands at nearly 259,000, up 4.3% over the previous year and an all-time record for the amount of cargo moving through Stansted in a 12 month period.
Manchester Cargo also saw a boost with 10,952 tonnes carried - an increase of 7% on June 2016. It equates to a 12% year-on-year increase with the annual rolling tonnage now at 118,849.
As previously reported, London's Heathrow airport saw monthly airfreight volumes in June increase by 13.4% on last year to 142,349 tonnes.
