Dutch-headquartered FlyUs will be Aeroflot’s cargo GSSA in six countries across Central America.

FlyUs will represent the Russian national carrier in Belize, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and El Salvador.

It will sell capacity on Aeroflot’s four times weekly A330-200 flight between Moscow and Miami in Florida, with the offline cargo being fed into Miami from each individual country.

FlyUs managing director Carlo de Haas said: “Aeroflot has not had any cargo representation in these six countries previously and we believe there is tremendous potential for their cargo services to Moscow and beyond.

“My team will be focusing heavily on a full range of perishables such as fruits, vegetables, seafood, flowers and plants as there is a demand for all these items in Russia."

Each flight ex-Miami will carry up to eight tonnes of freight which may include traffic for the Russian domestic market that will be served with onward connections from Moscow.
