FedEx Express' Kawal Preet

FedEx Express has appointed Kawal Preet as president, of Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA), effective from June 1.

Preet succeeds Karen Reddington, who served as president of FedEx Asia Pacific from January 2015 to now.

Preet joined FedEx Express in 1997 as an associate engineer in Singapore and gradually climbed the ranks after demonstrating her capabilities. Her most recent role at the company was president of operations at FedEx Express North and South Pacific.

In her new role, Preet will lead FedEx Express AMEA's corporate strategies and operations, and will manage almost 40,000 team members across FedEx Express' 103 markets in the region.

Don Colleran, president and chief executive of FedEx Express, commented: "I am thrilled that Kawal is taking over the reins as the president of AMEA region, including Asia Pacific.

"Preet is an industry veteran and brings a wealth of experience working at FedEx. She has proven to be a strong leader repeatedly over the years and has helped take Asia Pacific operations to new heights.

"I look forward to seeing our AMEA business grow under her leadership, and thank outgoing APAC regional president Karen Reddington for her outstanding service as she takes over the European region."

Preet added: "I am humbled and honoured to be leading this talented and experienced leadership team and a new region that is bursting with opportunities for global trade and businesses."
